A Model United Nations (MUN) is a simulation of the United Nations, where the participants represent delegates of various countries at the United Nations. The aim of theconference is to find a solution to the problems to be given before the conference. Just like United Nations students have a chance to draft resolution and find a solution to some of the important issues today.
The United Nations comprises various different committees that address different problems in order to reach the UN's goal of world peace. Just as UN, MUN also have committees in which various issues are discussed. Here at NITRIMUN 2020, we have seven committees, namely DISEC, UNHRC, WTO, COP, UNSC Trilateral Commission, IP and Rajya Sabha, each with a pioneering agenda.
Model UN teaches vital skills in diplomacy, negotiation, public speaking, problem-solving, conflict resolution, research, communication, oratory among many others. Model UN also gives students the opportunity to meet interesting new people and make new friends. It certainly aids in personality development, as a whole.
Researching is the first and most important step in preparing for a MUN. Not only is it necessary to have a grasp on information about the country you are representing and its position on the policies being discussed, but it is also important to understand the UN body that your committee is representing.
NITRIMUN is one of the best MUNs in the eastern circuit. It provides ample opportunities to both first-timers and experienced delegates with highly experienced EBs and exciting prizes.
No, you can be a part of NITRIMUN for your first MUN experience. Anyone from college or school above standard 8th can participate in NITRIMUN. Enthusiasm, knowledge and public speaking skills are some characters we look for the most.
